The latest estimate by the center for disease control (CDC) about 12% of the American population suffer from ADD/ADHD. While commonly diagnosed as a child, many adults suffer from symptoms which affect their daily lives. The good news is that we have many tools that can be used to effectively treat Adult ADD/ADHD. I believe that both medication and therapy are important for treatment and my goal is to get symptoms not only controlled but in remission. By remission, I mean not only being free of symptoms, but also having the ability to be able to focus, concentrate and live a functional and productive life. Together, I know this can be possible.
Ways that I incorporate the latest evidence based research and treatment:
- CBT for ADHD/ADD
- Using a combination of stimulant and non-stimulant medications
- Treatment with the latest medication
- Teaching effective skills for organization - Lists, notes, reminders and breaking down bigger ideas into smaller manageable chunks
- Individual tailored and personalized treatment
